PMI® Authorized Training Partner

PMI^® has updated the criteria for an organization who wants to provide training for PMP^® Exam Prep Boot Camps by creating the Authorized Training Partner program. To become an ATP, an organization must complete a stringent application process and all instructors must go through a Train the Trainer program conducted by PMI^® to be approved to teach.

Courses offered by ATPs are pre-approved for Contact Hours in fulfillment of certification eligibility requirements, as well as Professional Development Units (PDUs) to fulfill the Project Management Professional (PMP^®) Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) . The eligibility of Contact Hours/PDUs from other sources is the responsibility of certification candidates and will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The ATP program has been designed to enhance the ongoing professional development of PMI^®'s members, those credentialed through PMI^® and others in the project management profession.

When PMI^® introduced the CCR Program  in 1999, PMI^® members and staff knew that credential holders would need accessible ways to earn the 60 PDUs required each three-year cycle. They set out to create a global system to recognize training providers that followed PMI^® -established criteria.

The program features an extensive range of organizations committed to serving the professional development needs of the industry. Organizations include commercial training providers, colleges and universities, corporations, government and state agencies, and more than 250 PMI^® component and communities in more than 70 countries.

PMI^® continually revises and improves the CCR program to ensure those that have earned ATP status are capable of providing effective training. While it is impossible for PMI^® to guarantee the success of every ATP training activity, all organizations met the criteria at the time of their review. All ATPs are reviewed every three years.
